LaMar Lisman has been involved in the interior design industry for nearly two decades. A graduate of the University of Utah, his first brush with design started with his career as a Merchandise Manager for the fashion retailer Nordstrom. As part of a product development team, Lisman was able to explore endless possibilities of the design process.
Having always had a keen interest in all facets of design, Lisman eventually left Nordstrom to completely devote his time to developing a career in the interior design industry. By combining his strong retail background with his design education, Lisman soon found many opportunities to build his portfolio to include projects throughout the United States.
Lisman is a sought after writer and public speaker, frequently focusing on design and color trends in the design industry. He has been named one of the Leading Residential Interior Designers in the United States by Sandow Media and he was recently selected as one of the top 50 Design Professionals in North America by Panache Publications. He currently serves on the Design Review Board for the City of Holladay, Utah.
Lisman Studio Interior Design is located in Salt Lake City, Utah. The company has been ranked consistently as one of the most successful interior design firms in the nation. Lisman Studio projects include: residential, commercial, banking, hospitality, healthcare, aircraft, marine, restaurants and tenant improvements.

Senior Interior Designer
Kristina Weaver is a graduate of Salt Lake Community College with a degree in Interior Design. Kristina approaches every design project with a passion and appreciation for all aspects of design. Customer service is a strong hallmark of Kristina's career with Lisman Studio. Kristina shares a deep commitment with all the staff at Lisman Studio that our projects reflect our client’s taste and budget. An inherent natural ability for mixing patterns and textures has served Kristina well in her career. Kristina’s projects are always finished to the last detail; every lamp, accessory and accent has been carefully chosen with the client in mind. Kristina has received both national and regional recognition for her work which varies from elegant traditional to clean line contemporary.
Niki Strebel Volle
Senior Interior Designer
Niki Strebel Volle is a graduate of Utah State University with a degree in Interior Design. Originally from Logan, Utah, Niki has a wonderful relaxed approach to the design process. Her work is always original, innovative and detail oriented. Niki derives inspiration from the world around her; the clean lines of a vase, nature or even a photo in a magazine. Niki brings a strong architectural background to the Lisman Studio team. Her talents in space planning and drafting have served her clients well in their projects. Niki has received regional and national recognition for her work and continues to draw clients from throughout the United States.
Senior Interior Designer
A native of Bosnia, Belle Kurudzija joined Lisman Studio in 2006 upon receiving her degree in Interior Design from LDS Business College. Belle brings a unique perspective to design with each of her projects featuring a delightful eclectic approach. By mixing different periods and styles of furniture Belle creates spaces as unique as her clients — no two are ever the same. The results are always clever, energetic and innovative. Her projects have received print and media attention and showcase her ability to combine talent and training with accomplished results. Considering her impressive talent and level of professionalism, Belle is consistently a great asset to the Lisman Studio team.
Scott Ross, Allied Member ASID
Senior Interior Designer
Scott is a graduate of Utah State University with a Bachelor's degree in Interior Design. In 2009 Scott completed his Interior Design Internship with James Rixner Interior Design in New York City. With a background in digital rendering, space planning and drafting, Scott brings an additional dimension to the range of design services offered by Lisman Studio. He is also a LEED Green Associate which enables him to provide valuable input to the firm regarding sustainable design. Scott is a native of Pleasant Grove, Utah.
Originally from North Ogden, Utah, Melanie holds a Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from Weber State University. She completed her Interior Design Internship with the Interior Design Department of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah. Her unique background and experience she received during her internship with the LDS Church has suited her beautifully to provide design support for Lisman Studio’s ecclesiastical, commercial and hospitality projects, including specifications, space planning and material selection.
Shay Tucker, IIDA, NKBA
Shay is a native of Morgan, Utah. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from Weber State University. Shay completed her Interior Design Internship with Indigo Sage in Ogden, Utah and Lisman Studio. With training in REVIT, AutoCAD, rendering, space planning and textiles, Shay quickly proved to be a much needed member of the Lisman Studio team. With her exceptional attention to detail and follow through, there are very few tasks that Shay is not willing to tackle and Lisman Studio considers her to be a valuable new asset to the firm.
Yessenia Gray is a lifelong resident of Utah, having lived in Herriman, Riverton and Murray, Utah. Yessenia is scheduled to graduate from the Salt Lake Community College with an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Interior Design in June 2015. Having served as an Administrative Associate for the past two years, her duties often involve assisting the Lisman Studio Design Team in a variety of capacities. From organizing, maintaining and updating the firm’s extensive design library to being closely involved in vendor relations, placing orders, tracking, and enthusiastically jumping in with project installations. In fact, her favorite part of design is watching a project come together from start to completion. Her love of design shines through in every task she tackles; and in her own words, “…any space can become beautiful with a little design love!”
Emily Hatfield is a recent addition to the Lisman Studio Team, joining us from Huntington Beach, California. Emily graduated from the prestigious Interior Designer’s Institute in Newport Beach, California with a degree in Interior Design. As versatile as she is efficient, Emily has adapted beautifully to assisting a variety of Senior Design Staff at Lisman Studio. Her enthusiasm is evident in meeting with clients and vendors; she is always excited to learn about new products, trends and the endless possibility of design ideas. Emily also possesses strong technical skills, with drafting listed as one of her favorite job tasks. She enjoys the puzzle of how to make a space come together – and recent challenging projects have proven her skillset in innovative and successful ways. Lisman Studio is thrilled to have Emily as part of our staff. She brings a fresh perspective to our design philosophy that is highly valued.
Director of Operations
As Director of Operations, Lisa Thompson plays a vital role in the success of the company. Lisa coordinates client and vendor relations, installations, appointments and day to day operations of the company. She also heads the Accounting Department, coordinating Accounts Payable and Receivables. Her other duties include Human Resources, Employee Benefits and Community Outreach. Lisa is originally from Salt Lake City, Utah.
